Family-run Jamaican takeaway JJ’s Caribbean Kitchen is bringing the sunshine tastes of the Caribbean to Harry’s Temperance Bar on Victoria Parade in Urmston with an evening pop-up from Thursday to Saturday between 6pm and 10pm.
Renowned for its delicious milkshakes, waffles and ice cream which are served in the daytime, Harry’s now offers an authentic taste of the Caribbean in the evenings serving a range of home cooked Jamaican specials including curried mutton and curried goat, jerk chicken and traditional patties with various fillings, all lovingly made by chef James and his wife Marcia to take away.
After catering for many years at carnivals and food festivals across the UK, JJ’s Caribbean Kitchen is looking for somewhere to put down roots and was attracted to Urmston with its vibrant independent food and drink scene.
Chef James, who is one of the Js in JJ’s Caribbean Kitchen, said: “We can’t bring the sunshine but we can promise an authentic Caribbean welcome and delicious dishes including flavoursome curries, tender meat, fried fish, curry goat and rice and peas along with lots of tempting vegetarian options. Come and see us for the true tastes of one of the hottest islands in the Caribbean.”
