Invisible Urmston – Bellabees

Our Invisible Urmston mini series continues and this week we shine a light on a relatively new business in Urmston @bellabeesuk

Two friends, Sam and Collette, decided to set up BellaBeesuk when Sam found herself unable to return to work after her maternity leave.  She had previously worked as a self-employed mobile beautician and it was no longer possible due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.  They put their mutual interest in jewellery together and used most of their time in lockdown learning how to make high-quality pieces from earrings to necklaces and pendants.  The jewellery quickly became successful so they expanded their range to include seasonal Chocolate Heart Smash Boxes which have also been a huge hit with the Urmston community.

Why did you set up in business?

“We felt there was a gap in the Urmston marketplace for a unique handmade jewellery and gifts, and it fitted perfectly with our need to work from home during the pandemic with Sam’s business closed down and the children off school.”

What makes you different from everyone else?

“We go above and beyond to provide high levels of customer service; we are contactable at all times of the day/week and provide a personal service from simple enquiries through to more complicated orders. We also offer a free personal local delivery service.”

What were your last three local projects?

“We currently have a beautiful selection of our jewellery range displayed in Darby’s Café, which has been there since December.  We also launched our Chocolate Heart Smash Boxes in time for Valentine’s Day enabling people to stay at home by ordering a unique gift online for their loved one and having it personally delivered to the recipient’s door by us. The chocolate heart smash was a complete sell out, so we’re doing the same for Mother’s Day.  And just recently, we’ve launched a pretty rainbow pendant necklace to celebrate the end of the pandemic being in sight after the Prime Minister’s recent announcement.”

What do you like most about living and working in Urmston?

“We love how it is mainly small locally run independent businesses who all support each other. We also love how Urmston is so close to so many other fab places such as the Trafford Centre, Trafford Park, Manchester city centre and great transport links to further afield.”

What are your favourite Urmston businesses? / Where do you like to eat and drink?

“Our favourite local place to eat is Darby’s Cafe, where they homebake all of their menu and yummy cakes, with a lovely seating area of sofas and big windows so you can watch the world go by while enjoying a spot of lunch or a nice coffee.  We love all the independent businesses in Urmston, ‘B Sweet Mcr’ got Sam through lockdown with its amazing sweet box deliveries via Shocal, and we particularly love the new local independent estate agents ‘Locate’, after Sam recently used their service to sell her property. They were all a breath of fresh air and made the experience super stress free and were so knowledgeable and professional at all times. Kirsty who runs it is also a fellow Urmston resident.”
